Abstract

In March 2024, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Maluku Province will be 2.75 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.10. The highest inflation occurred in Ambon City at 2.80 percent with a CPI of 105.29 and the lowest occurred in Tual City at 2.59 percent with a CPI of 106.58.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in 10 expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 4.46 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 3.50 percent; health group at 3.44 percent; personal care and other services group at 3.32 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 2.76 percent; transportation group by 2.37 percent; education group at 1.59 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 1.50 percent; clothing and footwear group at 0.89 percent; and the equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group at 0.47 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: information, communication and financial services groups by 0.36 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for Maluku Province in March 2024 is 0.46 percent and the year to date (y-to d) deflation rate is 1.46 percent
